We’re looking for someone with a positive, hard-working attitude who has experience leading on retainer clients and managing the inhouse client teams to ensure KPIs are fulfilled. We are looking to fill this role quickly.
As an Account Director, you will direct the team, provide strategic advice and guidance to our long-term retainer clients, and oversee the delivery of communication campaigns on behalf of clients, using a combination of traditional, digital and social media tools and techniques. You will also be required to actively drive and contribute to ongoing business development at Carr Communications.
Here are some of the core responsibilities you will have in this role:
- Lead and direct client retainer accounts to a high standard
- Manage a team of communications professionals working on retainer clients and client projects
- Direct the planning, development, and delivery of integrated communication campaigns including project plans, press releases, stakeholder materials, speeches, timelines, key messages, and social media content.
- Be the strategic point of contact on clients and projects and provide strategic advice to senior client teams
- Successfully advise clients on communications strategies linked to business objectives, issues management, stakeholder engagement strategies and crisis communications
- Ensure budgets, timelines, invoicing and project deliverables are delivered to a high standard by our team to ensure successful client outcomes.
- Drive business growth and actively contribute to business development efforts.
- Develop positive relationships with clients and the media
- Generate ideas for new communications activities for clients
- Monitor and analyse media and the business environment to provide client insights and learnings
- Actively support and guide the development and upskilling of junior team members
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging communication tools and technologies.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Excellent communication skills and the demonstrated ability to create strong relationships with clients
- The ability to advise senior client teams and troubleshoot with a focus on solutions
- Demonstrated experience directing multiple priorities including retainer client accounts and short-term projects
- Demonstrated understanding of media relations, issues advice, crisis communications and stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Interested in current affairs and the world around you
- Experienced in tender writing and actively contributing to business development
- Knowledge of social media landscape
- Experience creating PowerPoint presentations and delivering presentations
- The ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
- The ability to prioritise with meticulous attention to detail
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Self-motivation and ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Suite.
