Account Manager

 

Description:

We’re looking for someone with a positive, hard-working attitude who has experience managing several clients and/or priorities with a focus on meeting client expectations and KPIs. We are looking to fill this role quickly. As an Account Manager, you will manage long-term retainer clients and execute communication campaigns, using a combination of traditional, digital and social media tools and techniques. You will also be required to contribute to ongoing business development at Carr Communications.

Here are some of the core responsibilities you will have in this role:

  • Manage client retainer accounts to a high standard and drive the completion of client projects.
  • Manage and oversee the planning, development, and delivery of integrated communication materials, including project plans, press releases, stakeholder materials, speeches, timelines, key messages, and social media content.
  • Lead and be the point of contact on clients and projects.
  • Manage budgets, timelines, invoicing and project deliverables to ensure successful client outcomes.
  • Ability to work with a senior team and follow direction to achieve client results.
  • Contribute to business development efforts.
  • Develop positive relationships with clients and the media.
  • Generate ideas for new communications activities for clients.
  • Monitor and analyse media coverage reports to provide client insights and learnings.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging communication tools and technologies.
  • Research, draft and distribute press materials.
  • Update media lists and databases.
  • Some administrative tasks.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to create strong relationships both internally and with our clients
  • The ability to troubleshoot and focus on solutions
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Agency experience and experience managing retainer clients and short-term projects
  • Demonstrated understanding of media relations, crisis communications, and social media strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Interested in current affairs and the world around you
  • Experience in tender writing and contribution to business development
  • Experience with social media channels and developing content for websites
  • Experience creating PowerPoint presentations
  • The ability to work well in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
  • The ability to prioritise with meticulous attention to detail
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Self-motivation and ability to work independently but also with a team
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Suite.
