A Payroll/Accounts Assistant is required by CareerWise Recruitment for our client based in Galway, to support the Finance Department in providing an effective and efficient financial service to the company with an emphasis on assisting with payroll administration and accounts assistance. You will undertake a variety of tasks such as entering payroll information, calculating wages and making payments. Certified Payroll Professional with at least 2 years experienced required. Role of this position

  • Administration of the fortnightly payroll using payroll software.
  • Updates and maintains payroll records by collecting and verifying timekeeping information, entering changes in relation to Revenue, salary, savings deductions, pensions, BIK, insurances and job title and department/division transfers, general information etc.
  • Updates payroll records from Revenue regarding PAYE, USC, PRSI, etc. in a timely manner.
  • Update, maintain and schedule Revenue payments and reconciling to ROS.
  • Preparation of reports by compiling summaries of gross and net pay, taxes, deductions, leave, additions, payroll liabilities, costs to employer etc. from payroll software system for accounts dept.
  • Preparation and recording of wage costs from payroll software into accounting system.
  • Provide assistance on and complete any due diligence information
  • Ensuring data collected corresponds to budgets, if any discrepancies query why.
  • Initiate periodical payments timely through our bank payment system.
  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave and non-taxable wages.
  • Assist with annual company Pensions and PRSA Pension Scheme returns.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
  • Distribute pay slips and other staff material.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Certified Payroll Professional with at least 2 years experienced required
  • Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.
  • Must have experience working with QuickBooks
  • Reconcile invoices and identify discrepancies.
  • Create and update expense reports.
  • Process reimbursement forms.
  • Prepare bank deposits.
  • Enter financial transactions into internal databases.
  • Calculating and checking to make sure payments, amounts and records are correct.
  • Issue invoices to customers and external partners
  • Preparation of cost breakdowns for contracts for new clients.
  • Maintaining and updating client cost breakdowns on a continuous basis.
  • Responsible for the preparation & updating of cost breakdowns due to ERO and communication of same to all clients
