Accounts Assistant

 

Description:

The Accounts Assistant will be accountable for taking charge of the daily accounting function including credit control procedures and preparation of financial reports suitable for presentation.

This is a full-time permanent position, and the successful candidate will work Tuesday-Thursday 9am- 5.00pm with 1 day at home

 

Responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Bank and credit card processing and reconciliations.
  • Creditors reconciliation and preparation of monthly supplier payment list.
  • Intercompany reconciliations.
  • Liaising with internal staff in relation to general finance queries.
  • Dealing with supplier queries.
  • Preparation and processing of electronic transfers and payments for authorization.
  • Recording and posting transactions to the accounting system (SAGE).
  • Performing the month end closing process and reconciliation of the ledgers, including bank and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assist and support with annual statutory audits.
  • Assist with revenue and reconciliations.
  • Ad hoc duties when required.

 

Attributes & Skills

 

  • Strong use of Excel.
  • Accounting Technician qualification or equivalent
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in a similar role
  • Strong use of Excel.
  • Familiar with accounting packages such as Sage.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative.
  • Clear communicator.
  • Close attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
