What To Expect

In your role as an Agile Project Manager you will be exposed to vehicle engineering projects where we are evolving the automotive technology of the future. You will be expected to work with product management as well as engineering managers to provide leadership and direction to multiple software development Agile scrum teams. You must have a strong working knowledge of Agile development methodologies, as well as more traditional Waterfall, to ensure project deliverables are met to the required software quality standards and program alignment.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Management to identify the Project Schedule for the respective program while being mindful of the Agile way of working and monitoring progress with the teams, identify trends and escalate to the Program/Product Manager as required
  • Collaborate with Program/Product Management to act as primary facilitator and coach during Program Events such as quarterly Project planning (PI planning)
  • Work with Product Owners to create and maintain their component backlogs. Define and document Project Team PI Objectives in conjunction with the Product Manager and Technical Leadership
  • Facilitate the resolution of Project Impediments both internal and external to the Project
  • Lead a culture of data-driven development by ensuring timely and accurate data on program status is constantly available
  • Preparing internal/external reports for the program gathering input from the relevant team leads and stakeholders
  • Create and Monitor the program level databases (eg) JIRA, Confluence, Program Central, etc for accuracy and flag any discrepancies

What You’ll Need

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and be able to lead individual and group tasks outside of the structured program cadence. Professional agility is critical as tasks and their inputs may be dynamic and will demand the ability to inspect outcomes and adapt approach. Also, seek to ensure consistency of process and organisational efficiency, while supporting the value of self-organising teams.

Key Skills Required:

Essential:

  • Degree in Computer science, Business, or a related area
  • 5+ years of relevant Agile & Software Project Management experience
  • Knowledge of recognised project management methodologies – eg. - Agile, Lean, Waterfall
  • Experience of managing projects & backlogs in tools such as Confluence & JIRA
  • Experience in working across the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience in facilitating / leading large-scale innovation / planning workshops or similar events
  • Obsessed with quality of delivered product – Key advocate for concepts of “Definition-of-Ready” & “Definition-of-Done” at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and focus on results/outcomes
  • Strong oral and written communication

Desirable:

  • PMP accreditation or project management qualifications like Prince2 are highly desirable
  • Working knowledge of scaled agile would be highly desirable
  • Knowledge of the automotive industry desirable
