Dairygold Agri-Business Division are pleased to invite applications from experienced & ambitious persons to join the Commercial Sales Team in the role of Agri Services Business Development Lead. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to be part of a professional team that is committed to the delivery of the highest customer service. The successful candidate will be based in Lombardstown, Mallow, Co. Cork working as a key part of the Inside Sales and Marketing Function to grow sales in conjunction with a field-based team through proactive engagement and technical support across our customers and suppliers.
Reporting to the Agri-Business Inside Sales & Business Development Manager the successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Sales and Customer Experience:
- Lead and develop existing business with designated customer accounts through the development and maintenance of strong active and collaborative relationships to develop opportunities across the agri, retail and laboratory businesses.
- Develop and deliver new business on key category segments including laboratory & soil testing services, new extensions to existing ranges of products and services offered to suppliers (Buy For Offerings), alternative energy and bioeconomy sector.
- Analyse and interpret weekly, monthly, and annual sales performance and take appropriate steps to correct below budget performance by managing through others.
- Supporting the Dairygold Sustainability agenda by identifying new revenue streams for the business and also developing existing activities in this space (soil testing, regenerative agriculture, Buy For) through leading technical advice and communications engagement on farm, online and through our sales teams.
- Develop competitive knowledge about target markets and potential buyers, qualifying leads and managing the handover of business to sales operations teams once established.
- Using an effective territory plan explore all opportunities to sell by ensuring that all existing and potential customers are proactively contacted in a timely and efficient manner.
- Provide accurate and relevant product information to assist customers in buying choices.
- Customer Service issues ¿ timely and proactive, providing an authentic customer experience and technical sales support.
Planning:
- In conjunction with the management team, prepare campaigns to meet and exceed the annual sales budget; include detail on potential new business and plans on regaining lost and lapsed business.
- Supporting the NPD and Innovation agenda introducing new products and services that improve the profitability and sustainability for our members.
- Developing sales strategy and supporting marketing plans across the business for key identified areas.
- Participate in the development of strategies for the further expansion of sales of the widest possible range of Society products to all existing and potential customers.
Communicating:
- Develop key collaborative relationships with internal teams (Agri sales, Retail and Laboratory) and external stakeholders including wholesale customers and related entities.
- Proactively communicate feedback and insights to management team.
Compliance:
- Proactively participate, promote and role model all Zero harm initiatives across the Society.
- Participate in all relevant H/S training to enable a Zero harm environment.
Applicants for this position must:
- Possess a 3rd level qualification in a relevant discipline preferably Agricultural Science.
- Have 3+ years commercial and technical sales experience in a similar role.
- Hold strong business acumen & commercial awareness.
- Be sales target driven with proven past results.
- Ideally have strong IT skills including CRM, Excel, Power Point with professional written & verbal skills.
