CREGG is delighted to be recruiting an Assistant Financial Controller to join a well-known renewable energy company based in Tipperary. This is a permanent, onsite opportunity and would suit individuals who are looking to work within a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Candidates will assist the Financial Controller and the Management Team in decision making and analysis. We are seeking someone who is fast learning and can work well under pressure with minimum supervision. As an Assistant FC, you will play a crucial role in managing financial matters and will be responsible for improving efficiency, maximizing profitability, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
Risk Analysis and Financial Forecasting:
- Assess financial risks and provide insights to guide decision-making.
- Use data analysis to forecast financial trends and outcomes.
Payroll Administration:
- Handle payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees.
- Stay updated on tax regulations related to payroll.
Financial Reporting and Budgeting:
- Prepare business plans, financial statements, and budgets.
- Analyse financial data to identify areas for improvement.
Income and Expenditure Control:
- Monitor and manage an organization’s income and expenses.
- Implement cost-saving measures where possible.
Liaison and Communication:
- Collaborate with colleagues, clients, and managerial staff.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-makers.
Monthly and Annual Financial Reports:
- Analyse and investigate financial reports to identify trends and anomalies.
- Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with year-end audit.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards.
Financial Systems and Policies:
- Support the development and management of accounting policies, financial systems and procedures.
- Implement best practices for financial management.
- Identify opportunities to develop and improve financial processes.
- Maintain and update financial records and documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Qualified accountant with +2 year PQE.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Prior internship or entry-level accounting experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with Sage 50 is a bonus.
