Description:
The impact of this role is to support continuous improvement in our E2E processes, capabilities and operations, help build an operational excellence capability across the organization, and support AO’s productivity goals.
This role will be particularly focused on E2E value chain and above site operational excellence but will work closely with site-based Operational Excellence resources in driving common goals and impact as well as acting as a thought partner and coach. Similarly, this role will work closely with Operational Excellence colleagues to drive change, ensure value creation, and create the environment for operational excellence to thrive.
- Activate our E2E Business Process Management model by diagnosing, redesigning, and activating E2E processes across the organization
- Optimize AO’s Business Process Management maturity through identification and ownership of continuous improvement opportunities and ambassadorship of our capability
- Drive gap analysis and evaluations of operational excellence capability and develop recommendations to increase performance and productivity in critical areas
- Critically review business performance, KPIs, and operational maturity and challenge business and operations leaders where needed
- Team up to identify, analyze, measure, prioritize, value, and execute a pipeline of operational excellence opportunities (e.g., efficiency projects) in alignment to our long-term strategic priorities.
- Drive generation of improvement ideas and opportunities across AO by networking across our groups, with AstraZeneca and amongst external companies
- Provide subject matter expertise and thought partnership to AO leaders, colleagues and the OPEX network to develop effective operational excellence initiatives and projects and to implement best practices
- Teach and coach AO colleagues and lead the adoption of operational excellence behaviors, concepts, and tools (e.g., may lead Kaizen events, GEMBA walks, workshops, training)
- Develop strong relationships across the AO and AstraZeneca network
- Work with the Operational Excellence team to drive our vision, build buy-in across the organization, and facilitate the creation of a continuous improvement culture
