Associate Engineer

 

Description:


As a member of the OEM Engineering group, the Associate Engineer will provide engineering support to manufacturing, new product development and new technology development activities within the Limerick site.

Principal Responsibilities

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited) to the following:
 

  • Actively participate in cross functional teams and value stream initiatives to meet company goals.
  • Represents Teleflex in customer interactions including customer visits in a professional, constructive and commercially aware manner.
  • Ensures that customer expectations are managed and met in all areas of business interaction.
  • Works with Teleflex Customer Services, Sales, value stream teams to facilitate professional and timely delivery of information relating to quotes, orders, deliveries, complaints and other queries as they arise.
    • Carries out day to day engineering functions including but not limited to:
    • Process characterisation
    • DOE
    • Production support
    • Validations
    • FMEA
    • Problem solving
    • Statistical Analysis
    • Tooling Design, drawing and management
    • Equipment Design, purchase, commissioning and installation
       

Principal Responsibilities Continued
 

  • Upgrade of current and the development of new equipment and processes including tooling, jigs and fixtures.
  • Project Manage, co-ordinate and execute customer development projects.
  • Design, development and validation of manufacturing processes including materials and processing technology.
  • Identify and implement improved processes which will eliminate waste and deliver a more efficient and effective commercial result.
  • Take responsibility for new equipment design, purchasing, installation and commissioning.
  • Carry out validation work in accordance with the appropriate FDA and ISO regulatory requirements
  • Work in project teams across value streams to develop new processes and deliver new products to the Manufacturing team.
  • Provide technical support on new technology and process development across the plant with an emphasis on supporting the development of robust manufacturing processes.
  • Become proficient in the relevant manufacturing processes so that the incumbent has a strong understanding of the factors which will have an effect on qualifying manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure Quality and EHS policies and procedures are adhered to at all times

     

Professional Skills/Knowledge
 

  • A degree in mechanical, production, Biomedical, industrial, manufacturing engineering or technology related area.
  • A self-starter, capable of working closely with operations in order to proactively support the overall goals of the company.
  • Ability to work under results related pressure to meet tight timelines and in a hands on manner.
  • A person with strong mechanical skills who is willing to take ownership for the provision of engineering support in this role.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and initiative to work in a fluid, demanding environment.
  • Understanding and appreciation of Teleflex ethics Standards.
  • Thorough understanding of Teleflex processes and products.
  • Basic Project management skills
  • Understanding of Teleflex Quality system (QMS).
  • Statistical analysis (Minitab / JMP)
  • Structured Problem Solving techniques
  • Understanding of Lean & Six Sigma Principles
