The Audio Visual Commissioning Engineer is responsible for ensuring the successful installation, testing, and commissioning of audiovisual systems in various environments, including corporate offices, conference rooms and educational institutions. This role requires a strong technical background in audiovisual technology, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Responsibilities

  • System Commissioning:
  • Perform system configuration, calibration, and testing to ensure audiovisual systems meet project specifications and client requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the commissioning phase.
  • Conduct system integration testing and ensure seamless operation of all AV components.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure the highest quality standards in audio and video performance, signal distribution, and system functionality.
  • Verify that all equipment and cabling are properly installed and labeled.
  • Conduct thorough system inspections and documentation before project handover.
  • Client Training:
  • Provide end-user training on how to operate and maintain the audiovisual systems.
  • Create user-friendly documentation and training materials as needed.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with project managers, designers, and installation teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to source necessary components and equipment.
  • Technical Support:
  • Offer post-installation technical support and troubleshooting assistance to clients when required.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging audiovisual technologies.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of system configurations, diagrams, and commissioning reports.
  • Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports for clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Audio Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in commissioning audiovisual systems, including audio and video conferencing equipment, control systems, and digital signage.
  • Strong knowledge of audiovisual signal processing, signal flow, and video codecs.
  • Proficiency in using test and measurement equipment for audio and video calibration.
  • Familiarity with control systems such as Crestron, Extron, or AMX is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project installations.
