Brokerage Business Analyst

 

Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Brokerage Business Analyst to play an important role in developing digital solutions. The primary purpose of this role is to develop, support and maintain Brokerage applications through planning, implementing and documenting technology solutions for Partners and Brokers. Additionally, this role is required to input into the Strategy, Digital & Data team, gather evidence, data and feedback to inform future developments, support deployment and improve processes.

Key Accountabilities
Reporting to the Brokerage Applications Manager, the Brokerage Business Analyst will have the following areas of responsibility within Brokerage:

  • Completing detailed business analysis to deliver application solutions for Partners and Brokers. Working with stakeholders to translate product vision and strategy into clear requirements for delivery; performing detailed system and process analysis for new features and usability options and ensuring test plans adequately capture requirement specifications.
  • Take a lead role in developing Broker digital applications, supporting business analysis activities throughout the requirement gathering, design & visualisation and the development phases, to ensure solutions are delivered in accordance with approved methodologies and user requirements.
  • Customer Journey mapping – Identifying pain points and areas for development to make it easier for Brokers to choose Irish Life thus contributing to sales effort.
  • Documenting all new developments to support training and to identify any implications of the changes. Providing ongoing deployment and production support. Escalating problems through the appropriate channels and providing agile day to day support to the business.
  • Monitoring and managing outputs and taking preventative and corrective action where necessary. Manages the stakeholder relationships and takes ownership of the delivery commitments, collaborating with IT, business managers and Broker user groups as appropriate.
  • Contribute to driving process and delivery improvements, providing support to the management team to ensure the continued development and enhancement of applications.

  • The ability to proactively manage projects from design to implementation.
  • Is able to manage a diverse workload efficiently.
  • Ability to work effectively in cross functional, agile or virtual teams.
  • Ideally 3+ years relevant industry experience with a breadth of understanding across operations, distribution and systems.
  • Prior business analysis experience is not a requirement but would be an advantage.
  • Strong IT literacy (web, applications, core systems, data analytics)
  • Ability to write functional specifications and test cases within template and normal parameters for job grade.
  • Experience of formal software development methodologies and software development life cycles (i.e. SCRUM) would be an advantage
  • Strong experience of test management, planning and execution on small and large scale projects.
  • An interest in design solutions is required. Experience in formal UI/UX discipline would be an advantage.
  • Detailed knowledge of Life and Pensions processes and procedures to be able to propose solutions and innovations.
  • Strong understanding of how Brokers work and the commercial dynamics of their market.
  • Strong understanding of technology industry trends and market influences.


Qualifications:

  • QFA is desirable but not a requirement.
  • Ideally the candidate would hold a relevant 3rd level qualification or a professional qualification in Business Analysis, Design or IT or be prepared to study towards achieving same.
