Description:
As the Business Development & Growth Associate, you will use both your sales and business skills to help create and build client relationships for our companies. In this role you'll work with the startups to develop marketing plans to drive lead generation, sales, and fundraising opportunities. Your day to day will include user acquisition strategies, growth channels, paid marketing, product funnel optimizations, and more!
We also expect the Bus Dev Associate to participate in program support with the other associates. Tasks will include assisting the companies in any areas of need, planning of weekly events, preparation for end of programme events, and taking meeting notes.
What We’re Looking for:
- Previous experience working on user acquisition and growth. Doesn't have to be on a growth team, we just want to see evidence you've worked on this class of problem before.
- Knowledge of the various paid marketing channels and technologies, including paid search (Google AdWords), retargeting, email marketing, social network advertising (Twitter, LinkedIn, and more), and content distribution and placement networks like Outbrain, Nativo, and Taboola
- High comfort with data and analytical thinking.
- Continually experimenting and searching to find new growth channels that are effective for the Accelerator cohort startups - our goal is to enable these companies to be top of mind in their respective fields.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to sell and convince, as you will have to champion new initiatives and tests to drive growth, and implement these new strategies with the companies.
- Product funnel optimizations (user feedback, A/B testing) a plus, so you can also work with the product teams to implement your experiments.
- Ability to jump in and complete any task quickly and effectively.
- Be a problem solver and effective communicator.

What You’ll Work On
- Supporting all NDRC Accelerator cohort startups with various tasks on an as-needed basis;
- Supporting the NDRC team with various tasks related to the delivery of the programme;
- Supporting the wider Dogpatch Labs team with tasks related to startup community events on an as needed basis
Who You Are:
- 1 year’s experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential. You may have run your own startup or worked for a tech company previously.
- You’re passionate about startups and innovation.
- You will have a knowledge and/or interest in the tech/energy/sustainability/startup world.
- You’re highly organised and strong in multi-tasking, planning, priority setting and execution.
- You know how to manage projects effectively and engage people to meet milestones.
- You’re a generalist with strong commercial acumen, happy to chip in wherever you’re needed.
- You’re self-motivated, independently driven and thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environments with a constant curiosity and a desire to learn new things.
- You’re a strategic thinker with the ability to synthesise research and ideas into meaningful and powerful presentations.
- You ask, or learn to ask the right questions.
- You’re a team player who enjoys collaborative work and brings a positive attitude to any task.
- You have great communication skills and can work closely with people.
- Ability to use modern technology platforms, and learn quickly (Trello, Slack, Google Docs & Slides etc)
