IES are currently looking for a Business Development Consultant to join our growing business development team and help us deliver our services to clients such as building owners, building designers and facilities managers. Working from the Dublin office, the successful candidate will support the commercial growth of the Irish company and help increase sales.

At IES we have been working in Climate Tech for the last 27 years and we consider the fight against Climate Change a moral imperative that drives all our decisions. The “Intelligent Communities Lifecycle” (ICL) is our suite of interconnected tools which facilitates the planning, design and operation of energy-efficient and sustainable cities, communities, campuses, portfolios, buildings and local networks. The market for our products and services is vast and currently there is a lot of untapped potential.

You will be responsible for forming and building relationships with clients, learning about the challenges they face and supporting the Global Sales team in proposing consultancy or software services to help address their business challenges. Following a period of training and mentoring, the successful candidates will have the opportunity grow within the sales team and enhance their career.

The Candidate

We are looking for enthusiastic professionals with 1-3 years’ experience who are looking to kick-start their career in a technology company fighting climate change. Ideally, the successful candidate will have sales experience in the sustainability sector or digital technologies for construction or buildings. Alternatively, you will be working as a technical consultant or project consultant and wish to develop your career in a more sales-oriented position.

Essential Skills:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering or science discipline and passion for sustainability
  • Responsible for identifying new business opportunities and responsible for driving sales through links with industry partners.
  • An innovative thinker who can build relationships throughout the business and with prospective customers.
  • Professional presentation and clear communication skills
  • A proactive attitude, passionate about what you do, enthusiastic, self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • Excellent time management and prioritisation skills in a fast-paced, innovative tech. organization
  • Collect market/competitive benchmark data and regularly review with the sales team
  • The role provides a stimulating mix of activities which require a sales professional with technical expertise
