The post holder will deliver an integrated expert service to meet the occupational therapy needs of 65yr service users across our older person’s services. Interestingly, this senior post will be rotational across our older person’s services; the possible rotation options may include:

1. In-patient Specialist Geriatric Ward
2. Raheny, Community Nursing Unit and outreach service
3. 65yr St Joseph’s Rehabilitation service
4. Pathfinder Pre Emergency Care Service
5. Emergency Dept. Frailty Intervention Therapy Service

Rotations may last approximately 12-18 months and will be dependent on the timing of appointments within the services and the skill mix of available therapists. Ultimately, the aim will be to offer therapists the opportunity to broaden their clinical skills across of a number of service areas. He/she will join an experienced team of multi-disciplinary colleagues delivering these services. He/she will work in collaboration with the occupational therapy manager and other occupational therapists in planning, co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating the wider Care of the Older Persons service. There will be an expectation to be flexible and offer support/cover to any of the umbrella group services if required i.e. during periods of extreme demand, unexpected or unplanned leave.
