Description:
This role is responsible for optimizing the layout within the retail estate to enhance product/category visibility, enhance the customer experience and maximise sales. The retail space planner will also be responsible for creating merchandising planograms to ensure effective product placement maximising sales and margin. The role involves analysing store layouts, product assortments and sales data to develop and implement planograms and floor plans across the retail estate. This is a full-time role, within the Procurement function of the Retail business. This role is based in the Citywest Support Office with hybrid of work from home and office location and reports into the Commercial Projects Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Develop macro space plans for the retail estate ensuring optimal use of floor space to maximise sales and margin.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of retail floor plans and product/category placement.
- Prepare and present reports on macro floor plans including recommendations for adjustments.
- Working closely with the category management team to analyse sales data and design planograms and ensure the most efficient use of space on shelf.
- Creating and updating product planograms across categories that reflect our position in the market to drive sales and margin.
- Ensuring retail plans are reflective of emerging market trends to optimise sales opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with other departments in the business.
- Conduct in store visits and work closely with the retail ops and sales team to understand needs and objectives.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of changes made to macro retail space.
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations to improve existing processes or create new ones.
- Support the maintenance of space planning software and database with accurate data.
- Any other projects and duties where they arise.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Proficiency in Neilson space planning software or previous retail space planning experience a distinct advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Must be detail oriented.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in retail pharmacy or any retail chain a distinct advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related study preferable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to travel to retail locations as required.
