Description:
The Hunt Museum is seeking to appoint a new CEO & Director to lead the institution following a successful period of dynamic development and growth. The Hunt Museum is founded on its collection of objects and paintings from the ancient to the modern, housed in Limerick’s Georgian Custom House on the banks of the Shannon river, and around this collection it has built a broad cultural programme with a strong focus on community participation and inclusivity.
The Museum is funded by the Irish Government and Limerick City and County Council, EU grants and through a range of other raised funds, including corporate sponsorship. It is further supported by the Friends of the Hunt Museum, the invaluable work of its volunteers and the Docents of Hunt Museum Docents.
As a cultural institution that is required to generate half its income and manage its commercial facilities, the CEO and Director will shape and navigate the Museum's cultural and broader operational development.
Reporting to the board of the Hunt Museum, the CEO and Director will be supported to devise a new multi-annual strategic plan for the Museum with all stakeholders, that builds on its success to-date. This new programme will set advancement goals that continue its innovative approach to keeping its core collection and cultural programme engaging to all of its audiences in the diverse and digital society it serves.
