Chief Financial Officer

 

Description:

Furthr is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to be a key senior executive within the Furthr Leadership team, reporting directly to the Furthr CEO. The successful candidate will have responsibility to provide financial guidance and leadership to the Board, CEO, and senior management team on all aspects of business planning, while upholding the highest standards of financial and non-financial reporting in Furthr and Furthr managed Guinness Enterprise Centre (GEC). The CFO role also involves the Group Company Secretary and they will be required to provide a professional, efficient and high-quality company secretarial service to Furthr Group Companies. Furthr Group Companies is comprised of a holding Company and two wholly owned subsidiary Companies, each of which have their own Boards.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, delivery focused leader with superb interpersonal skills and a passion for excellence, possessing expertise and insight into governance within private, public sector and non-for-profit environment and have experience in formal reporting to an audit and risk committee and a Board. They. They will thrive working in a positive, action oriented, collaborative environment and in a varied in-house role overseeing, strategic planning and financial forecasting, financial operations, risk management, compliance and governance and serving as a Company Secretary.

Responsibilities:

The CFO will be responsible for:

 

  • Financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, including the preparation and presentation of periodic financial and management accounts to all relevant stakeholders.
  • Overseeing the financial operations of Furthr group companies to include managing the accounting, legal, tax, and cashflow within the Furthr group.
  • Planning, co-ordinating and managing internal and external audits; reporting risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directors and supporting the Group Risk.
  • Ensuring that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements and appropriate levels of relevant insurances are always in place within the Furthr group.
  • Reviewing, approving and negotiating financial terms in all submissions and agreements with Government departments, Revenue and third-party funders.
  • Maintaining oversight of all outsourced services relating to the Finance function.
  • Advising the CEO and the Board on the financial performance of the Furthr group and the identification, management and mitigation of financial risk.
  • Be responsible for all compliance matters of the organisation and its subsidiaries, collaborating closely with the Board compliance committee to ensure delivery of all requirements under our charity regulation are to a consistently high standard.
  • Contributing to broader transformation initiatives in a leadership capacity.
  • Preparation and filing of all statutory returns, including interim and year-end financial statements.
