Organization Overview:
Clinical Trial Foundations (CTF), as part of Clinical Design, Delivery and Analytics (CDDA), delivers innovative and reliable systems, processes, and information to enable clinical development and speed medicines to patients. Clinical information management focuses on establishing and managing a single digitized source of information and assists with enabling use by downstream business units with the aim of ensuring timely, accurate and quality delivery of that information. The role requires the individual to work across multiple systems, data domains, processes, functions, and locations to ensure accuracy and integrity of the data that supports global drug development.
Responsibilities:
Maintain and grow a strong working knowledge of the various systems used across CDDA in clinical trials.
Use expertise in business process understanding, development, and support to manage CDDA business systems.
Apply knowledge and experience to continuously improve functionality and efficiency of supporting systems.
Partner across functions, geographies and vendor staff as needed to assist with system integrations and data flows.
Support internal audits and external inspections as needed.
Follow standards and procedures for information management ensuring high data quality.
Provide input into the development of processes and plans for maintaining data quality.
Ensure processes, data flow, data definitions and other key info related to data sources are documented and maintained.
Drive shared learning with team members and business partners to ensure consistency and effective management of cross domain data touch points and relationships.
Collaborate with IT and System SMEs to obtain data needed by consumers, including new data sources.
Continually seek and implement means of improving processes to reduce cycle time and decrease work effort resulting in cost saving and rapid access to data.
Understand the confidential nature of company information and take necessary steps to ensure its protection along with understanding various aspects of privacy as it relates to the data.
Support customer requests for data and ensure accuracy of deliverables.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT, preferred.
Applied experience in medical, quality, clinical drug development, or clinical information flow, preferred.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Advanced degree in relevant field.
Experience in clinical development data systems as well as current and evolving technologies to support clinical development.
Knowledge and/or experience in project management of data migration and reporting
Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated strength in logical thought, problem solving ability and critical thinking.
Ability and experience in building consensus and resolving conflict to drive progress.
Flexibility in approach and/or high learning agility.
Ability to adjust to unexpected business opportunities while also being a catalyst for positive change.
Knowledge of regulatory and quality requirements governing clinical data development
Exceptional customer focus.
Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
