Description:

The Clinical Nurse Manager 2 – Nursing Practice Development, will develop, plan, implement, and evaluate projects that will influence the standard of nursing care provided in The Mater Misericordiae University Hospital.

Principal Duties and Key Responsibilities

Professional / clinical leadership and management that promotes efficiency, innovation, teamwork and continuous quality improvements, with particular attention to the careful nursing/documentation project.

 Continuous monitoring and support for nursing documentation post Careful Nursing project implementation to ensure standards are maintained and all areas in the MMUH are using appropriate nursing documentation to capture the care given.

 Together with the management team, be involved in identifying opportunities for development of nursing services that will improve the care of patients.

 Determine the educational needs of the nursing staff within the organisation, and make recommendations in conjunction with the Clinical Nurse Managers and ADONs as to how these needs are met.

 Plan, co-ordinate and implement in-service / continuing education for nursing staff.

 Prepare and conduct sessions for nursing documentation information sessions at ward level and in a classroom setting.
