Role Dimensions

Diageo Ireland is split into the On and Off Trade. On Trade is anywhere alcohol is consumed on the premises – pubs, hotels, restaurants etc. The On-Trade has cira 8,000 customers primarily directly serviced by our sales organisation with a small proportion dealing with our wholesale route to market partners and agents. The channel is highly competitive with significant sales activity and commercial negotiations to secure distribution and visibility in outlet.

 

This Commercial Finance Analyst role is a critical business partnering role playing a key role in performance management, pricing and investment analysis including measurement and evaluation, decision support while working closely with the three On-Trade Hub Managers and the commercial teams.

The Commercial Finance Analyst has three key areas of responsibility:

  • Understand the levers to drive efficient growth & make the right business decision based on data, analysis and the wider business context. Use analytics to help the business reach better business decisions. Own and drive the Measurement and Evaluation of all On Trade investments, work with individual Commercial Executives and Hub Manager to understand drivers of investment performance at a detailed level, consolidating those insights into trends across the channel.
  • Track, analyse & present actual financial results (versus forecast, plan or prior periods) and non-financial information to enable the right decisions and/or course corrections to be made. Transform data into insight making sure to address the "so what" factor for the business when presenting the information.
  • Prepare financial plans & forecasts including AOP preparation, bottom up & top down forecasting & manage budgets effectively throughout the year. Work with business partners to understand and challenge components of forecasts; quantify risks and opportunities; and help develop contingency plans
