Description:

The role will focus on supporting the development of transport models for operational assessment and / or scheme appraisal. With the support of the Modelling and Appraisal, Public Transport, Development and Infrastructure and Transport Planning teams, you will play a key role in delivering projects.

You will also be required to:

  • Support in the development and implementation of transport planning strategies and policies that align with client needs and industry best practices.
  • Be part of a team of transport planners and engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their transport planning needs and develop tailored solutions that meet their objectives.
  • Support research and analysis to identify emerging transport trends and technologies that could benefit clients and advising on their application.
  • Engage with stakeholders, such as local government authorities and community organisations, to gather input and feedback on transport planning projects.

Experience Required

  • Holding a Level 8 or 9 degree in civil engineering would be beneficial but not essential.
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer (CEng MIEI or equivalent)
  • Understanding of development and application of simulation/strategic models desirable
  • Data analysis (including spreadsheets and databases) and problem-solving
  • Reporting of model results
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent report writing skills highly beneficial.
