Description:
New Ireland Assurance is responsible for the administration of all New Ireland Assurance and Bank of Ireland Life's Individual and Group business. Our focus in Corporate Pensions is on delivering superior service and ensuring that the highest quality, control standards and regulatory obligations are maintained at all times.
This role ensures that there is a consistent and aligned approach to risk management from a first line perspective. This role has responsibility for identifying, recording, managing, monitoring and reporting of risk in Corporate Pensions, in accordance with the Group's Risk Policies. The role has oversight of Risk Acceptance and recording and remediation of risk events and errors on our core system RADAR and provide support, advice and guidance on navigating RADAR; as well as producing data and reports for Corporate Pensions management teams.
- To record and manage Risk Events and CPC errors for Corporate Pensions teams; support and remediate Risk events within agreed timescales and ensure RADAR updated with progress.
- To track the details of Risk Events including timeliness to log, day count to remediation, open/closed event numbers, type of events occurring, root cause analysis and preventative measures
- Support with Risk management reviews across the Department.
- Support with Issue management oversight across the Department.
- To provide support to Corporate Pension teams, through developing their knowledge of RADAR and risk management practices
- Ensure that any events (including data and regulatory breaches) are logged to RADAR within the required timeframes.
- Be the point of contact for Event and Error management in RADAR for Corporate Pensions.
- Raise events that meet Technical Forum threshold with New Ireland Compliance
- Share the data in the reports received with RADAR Risk/Control/Event/Issue owners and ensure appropriate actions are taken to remediate
- Review and act on daily/weekly/monthly reports, including Quality; received from Business Assurance to ensure that a strong Risk and Control environment is maintained in Corporate Pensions
- Root Cause Analysis tracker to be maintained to ensure review and analysis of RCA to determine appropriate and effective preventative measure to stop events from recurring; support preventative measures / controls to prevent recurrence
- Participate in any Risk Event/CPC Errors/Data Breach/Issues Forums where required
- Support the embedding of the Event management process created by outsourced partners, including logging to RADAR

- An understanding of the RADAR risk management system and ability to extract and review reports
- Be the point of contact for Event and Error management in RADAR, in particular with outsourced providers. Ensure that any events (including data breaches) are logged to RADAR within the required timeframes
- Awareness of the New Ireland Risk Framework (RCSAs in RADAR) risk assessment and control design
- Ability to meet the remediation deadlines and maintain quality in RADAR
- Work with colleagues in first (Business Assurance) and second (Op Risk and Compliance) line to manage risk in RADAR for Corporate Pensions Risk owners
- Engage with colleagues and managers to ensure RADAR data is accurate and complete
- Understand Data Breach Guidance requirements
- Experience working in a Financial Services business environment
- Knowledge of Investment, Protection and Pension products
- Be able to demonstrate real initiative and proactive management of deadlines
