Position Description
ESB is seeking an experienced creative experiences and events manager to lead and deliver its corporate event management programme. This is a key role within the Corporate Brand and Reputation team, which will contribute to the development of ESB’s reputation strategy and provide thought leadership relating to their area of expertise. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of corporate events for ESB, from creative development through to execution. They will ensure that ESB hosted events and experiences engage stakeholders in a memorable and compelling way and meet a standard of excellence that is consistent with ESB’s leading brand position.
Key Responsibilities
Conceptualise and produce creative events, conferences and experiences that communicate ESB’s brand purpose and value to our customers and stakeholders in a compelling and memorable way.
Work with communications, marketing, strategy and operational colleagues to develop fully integrated event plans which connect physical and virtual experiences and tell ESB’s story in a coherent way across all channels.
Create and manage cross-functional event delivery teams comprising peers and external agencies to create and deliver world class events and experiences.
Manage the performance of external agencies and suppliers in order to deliver outstanding results to time, scope and budget.
Turn brand and audience insights into creative ideas and PR / media campaigns that showcase ESB as an innovative and creative organisation, and secure buy-in from senior internal stakeholders.
Develop high quality content for events that communicate ESB’s purpose and strategy, including brochures, web content, case studies, data sheets, presentations, infographics, videos and promotional items.
Manage the “Ardnacrusha Experience” (public tours of Ardnacrusha Power Station). Ensure quality business case rationales are prepared with robust goals, KPIs and effectiveness tracking in place, and manage performance to agreed KPIs.
Seek out speakers, entertainers, influencers and other key people that fit with ESB’s brand to participate in ESB events and conferences.
Identify, target and secure opportunities for ESB senior executives to be represented at third party events.
Engage with internal stakeholders to develop and maintain stakeholder invitation lists for events.
Negotiate contracts with partners and suppliers, and ensure compliance with procurement processes and procedures.
Engage with safety colleagues to undertake safety audits and develop safety plans and policies relating to ESB events.
Monitor and report on industry developments and competitor activity and act as a thought leader in the development and execution of events and experiences, helping to build capacity and drive innovation across ESB.
Provide support to all ESB business units in the development and execution of events.
Project manage key events and manage and report on budgets and timelines on a regular basis.
Maintain the highest level of safety across all events and experiences, and provide assurance and documentation that all necessary safety standards have been achieved.
Engage with ESB’s most senior internal and external stakeholders in relation to event plans and staging, invitation lists etc.
Actively contribute as core member of the Corporate Affairs team with cross functional responsibility as required.
