The Risk Function is an independent, second line of defence function that monitors, controls and supports risk-taking activities across AIB. The purpose of the Risk Function is to provide advice and guidance in relation to risk while providing independent oversight and reporting on AIB’s risk profile.

The Risk Function’s main objective is to ensure AIB has a robust risk management framework and culture in place to ensure risks are taken within the risk appetite set by the Board, in support of AIB’s customer franchise and social responsibility.

Credit Risk is a Second Line function responsible for the review and challenge of credit risk proposals for customers. A vacancy now exists on the ECAI (Energy, Climate Action & Infrastructure) Credit Risk team, assessing proposals from Capital Markets primarily in the areas of Renewables, Project Finance & Infrastructure.

This is a key growth area within AIB and the Irish Economy, and the successful candidate will be required to assess sizeable domestic and international opportunities. The successful candidate will have responsibility for the delivery of a professional lending service to a number of Business teams and ultimately the Bank’s customers.

We’re Looking For Someone Who Has
 

  • 7 + years' experience in Corporate Lending, preferably in Credit Risk (Second Line of Defence);
  • Material experience of Project Finance – Domestically or Internationally;
  • Relevant 3rd level qualification;
  • Strong Financial Analysis and Credit Assessment Skills;
  • A proven awareness of sustainable lending;
  • Ability to manage and develop people.
