Description:

Croí is seeking to recruit a full-time experienced Allied Health Professional with a passion for stroke rehabilitation and prevention. This role is ideally suited to a professional with a background in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Speech and Language Therapy.

Over the past 3 years, Croí has placed an increased focus on our activity related to stroke support and prevention. Our capacity to provide much-needed community-based support for individuals and families affected by stroke has been greatly increased by a recent Legacy Donation for community stroke support received in 2023 from the Joe and Helen O’Toole Charitable Trust. As a result of this donation, Croí is in the process of building a dedicated stroke hub called The Joe & Helen O’Toole Stroke Hub at the Croí Heart & Stroke campus in Newcastle, Galway, and will fund two PhD scholarships in Stroke Prevention Research. As part of this donation, Croí has also purchased two vehicles to facilitate a greater presence in the community focused on early detection and awareness of stroke and heart disease risk factors.

The successful applicant will be joining Croí at the most exciting time in our 40 years in the context of this unprecedented development in infrastructure for stroke support and will lead out on the development of existing and new innovative offerings to meet the needs of people affected by stroke.

This role is based at the Croí Heart & Stroke Centre, Newcastle, Galway, with some flexibility for remote working 1-2 days per week, subject to business needs.
