Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all documents, Duty and Tax payments, and other requirements related to the import or export of goods comply with the regulations. You will work in an established brokerage team and report to the Operations Manager.
What you'll be doing:
- To ensure that all duties are carried out in a correct, timely and cost-effective manner
- Prepare and submit customs declarations for Air & Road import and export shipments.
- For customers with their own broker, forward paperwork to the relevant Broker. Ensure notes are added to TMS to follow up with brokers.
- Check with the Airlines after flight arrival that shipments have been stored at the correct temperature. Any shipments that require dry ice or replacement gels are reported to the Dispatch team.
- Collaborate with customs officials, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely customs clearance.
- Stay updated on changes in customs regulations and tariffs, and provide guidance to clients and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate records of customs transactions and documentation.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries and concerns related to customs clearance.
- Customs clear electronically all shipments originating from and destined for countries outside of the EU. Ensure that customs procedures are adhered to in line with local customs authority
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance within the customs clearance process.
- Build strong relationships with C&E/Revenue to ensure that Revenues expectancies are recognized, recorded and delivered on.
- Follow TAN account process and ensure funds are received or acknowledged before outlaying vat and duties.
- Creating and discharging T1 documents
- Maintain knowledge of all regulation changes and any new processes that may arise
- Meet KPI targets with regards to entry completion.
