We are looking for a data engineer with an analytical mindset to help drive business decision making via our in-house experimentation platform. Our experimentation tooling integrates with a mature modern data stack (Snowflake, DBT, Montecarlo, Looker etc) and we continue to evolve its capabilities in terms of additional metrics, new measurement techniques and application to diverse areas of the business. A successful candidate will understand the big-picture needs of a publicly-traded international eCommerce business and have the ability to package the results in such a way which communicates them in an easy to comprehend way and with accuracy to business stakeholders.

The day to day:

• Partnering with Business Intelligence analysts and technical stakeholders to develop meaningful metrics and KPIs which reflect accurately our business performance

• Implementing features in our in-house experimentation platform which allow stakeholders to measure impact of on-site changes and marketing campaigns via our in-house end to end experimentation platform in a consistent way across the business

• Provide thought leadership in the experimentation domain ensuring best practices are followed and evaluate novel techniques via proof of concepts in cooperation with Data Science

What you’ll bring to the role:

• 3+ years working in a data centric environment as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, BI Engineer or equivalent

• Understanding of statistical methods for data evaluation, in particular experimental data (Bayesian and Frequentist analysis)

• Ability to apply complex analytical SQL queries efficiently on large datasets (we use Snowflake)

• Experience working with a dataframe APIs to manipulate and process data using Python in a functional programming context (Pandas, Snowpark, Spark)

• Ability to present complex data in an easy to consume format both in tabular form and visually using common Python charting libraries (Plotly, Altair etc)

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
