Data Privacy Manager

Description:

The Privacy Manager is expected to have in depth expert knowledge of GDPR, local data protection laws and manage the Institute’s data protection strategy and processes. They will lead and manage a cross-functional Data Lead team for ensuring on-going compliance with data protection legislation. This is a key role in driving, managing, and supporting the administration of internal systems and processes designed to ensure compliance with Data Protection requirements. This also involves monitoring compliance with procedures which support the business in complying with its Data Protection obligations. This role will also undertake related project work identified in the organisation to deliver compliance with GDPR on an ongoing basis

Key Responsibilities

• Inform and advise the Institute and employees on applicable privacy laws, regulations, and enforcement, monitoring, and reporting on new developments and trends across Europe.
• Keeping up to date on data protection changes and ensure continuing implementation of the Institute’s data protection policy and any other connected policies and processes.
• Advising on the privacy impact for new business initiatives, ensuring consistency of approach across the organisation in respect of data protection approach and practices.
• Providing advice and instructions on how to conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
• Ensuring we address all queries from data subjects within legal timeframes and manage any data subject access requests.
• Advising and monitoring compliance of records of processing activities, along with ensuring adherence of retention and deletion/disposal schedules.

What Skills You Need

• Experienced Data Protection professional with proven experience in Data Protection or similar compliance role.
• Experience/knowledge of the accountancy industry.
• Experience in managing data incidents and breaches
