Devops Engineer

Description:

We are using the latest tools for development (GitLab, Docker, Kubernetes) and modern software development methodologies with Scrum. Our application currently uses: Java, Spring, Node.js, PlottableJS, D3.js, React, Redux, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, Apache Flink, and Microservices based on Node.js, and Java. Using tools including: GitLab-CI, ArgoCD, Terraform, Rancher, Kubernetes, Honeycomb, Grafana, and Prometheus.

What You Will Contribute To

As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will be reporting to our engineering lead, where you will play a huge part in our engineering team and be contributing to the deployment of our cloud applications. This is a new senior-level position within the business with further opportunities to grow both personally & professionally. We see the DevOps function growing significantly in the coming years and there is a huge potential for this role to evolve and grow as the team does.

What You’ll Do

• Collaborative infrastructure development, testing, and evaluation
• Maintaining, updating, and improving our CI/CD setup and strategy
• Increasing monitoring capabilities and developing incident debugging tools.
• Improving service deployment configuration
• Collaborating within the engineering and data science team to improve automation and internal tooling to increase productivity
• Helping to create a DevOps roadmap for the company
• Build out our infrastructure-as-code deployment scripts and our kubernetes deployment manifests
   

Requirements

• You have experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, Kubernetes and/or Server Administration
• You have previous experience working in DevOps roles
• You have experience working with ArgoCD
• You write clean, maintainable code and love working on interesting problems
• You have a passion for building tools which will be used by developers every day
• You’re interested in building resilient software
• You have some experience writing Java, Javascript, and/or Python
• You are looking to grow your career in the DevOps space
