Oliver James have partnered with an established MiFID firm as they expand their European presence and to facilitate this growth are keen to speak with senior Enterprise Risk professionals.
The successful candidate will provide regional and functional support in enhancing and embedding an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework within the Dublin office. This role will be key to ensuring alignment with both Group and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate can expect a varied day-to-day which will look like but not be limited to the following responsibilities;
- Lead ERM support for the EU Banking Licensing project, focusing on the Authorisation Assessment Process and providing risk expertise across the three key application phases: Exploratory, Draft, and Application.
- Provide thought leadership by incorporating critical elements of Enterprise Risk Management and governance into the Draft Application, including defining governance and reporting structures for ERM.
- Prepare updates for key stakeholders such as Risk Committees and Boards, ensuring cohesive messaging and alignment across risk information.
- Identify opportunities to enhance risk reporting based on both Group requirements and local demands, in line with new regulatory needs.
- Oversee the maintenance and documentation of the Enterprise Risk programme to meet internal and regulatory standards.
- Support the roll out of ERM frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with the Group risk program and EU Banking Licence requirements.
- Lead the development and maintenance of the Risk Appetite Statement for the new EU Bank entity, with ongoing monitoring and reporting to the Executive Risk Committee and Board.
- Develop the Risk Appetite Scorecard to assess performance against the Risk Appetite Statement over time.
- Embed risk identification processes within the organisation, supporting senior executive and Board-level risk monitoring, including quarterly TEAR assessments and the annual Risk Register update.
- Engage with SMEs across the firm to develop a local perspective on non-traditional risks affecting the new EU Bank entity.
- Provide input on material risk identification for the banks entity's ICAAP Economic Capital assessment and assist the CRO in preparing documentation as needed.
- Continuously assess emerging regulatory trends and issues to evaluate their potential impact on the new EU Bank entity.
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes;
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Enterprise Risk Management, with a deep understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory projects.
- Strong knowledge of the banking sector, including risk management processes and regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in at least one risk domain such as Credit, Market, or Operational Risk.
- Familiarity with Capital Markets and regulatory areas like capital, liquidity, and IRRBB.
- Proven experience in delivering complex projects, ideally related to banking licensing applications.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills, with experience engaging stakeholders across multiple regions.
- Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
