Dp Fund Risk, Aifm - Exclusive Role

The Panel has been retained exclusively by a global investment management firm to source a hi-calibre DP Investment/Fund Risk (PCF-39C). Our client is looking to add an AIFM licence to their existing business. The individual will be joining at an exciting time in their development and be afforded the opportunity to work with an experienced team to grow their AIFM services.

 

Your initial priority will be to design, build, embed and implement an investment risk management process in conjunction with local requirements as well as group risk frameworks/policies.

 

The role

  • Oversee the fund risk framework related to various fund strategies of the ICAVs.
  • Measure and monitor risk in relation to the AIFM and assist the Board in setting the risk appetite.
  • Ensure funds are managed in accordance with the risk management framework, risk appetite, and applicable regulatory limits.
  • Report to the board of the AIFM on a quarterly basis regarding investment risk oversight.
  • Review investment breaches and present findings to the board as necessary.
  • Perform risk controls, checks, and liquidity and market stress testing as required by regulations.
  • Manage relationships with the Central Bank of Ireland and perform onboarding procedures for new fund launches.
  • Collaborate with the broader risk management team on various projects and tasks.

 

The Candidate

  • Min 8+ years of financial services experience, ideally in a risk management capacity within the asset management or funds industry. Knowledge or experience in portfolio management would be a distinct advantage.
  • Suitable qualifications and experience supporting the expectations of the PCF-39C role (DP for Fund Risk Management).
  • Familiarity with regulations and guidance from the Central Bank of Ireland and other European regulatory bodies (ESMA).
  • Thorough understanding of AIFMD, UCITS, and the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fund Management Company Guidance (CP86).
  • Highly numerate with proficiency in risk analysis and stress testing methodologies. Ideally a strong quants background.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
