Description:

DRCC is recruiting a full-time Education Officer to support the Education and Training team in providing
training, resources and education both internally and externally. The Education and Training function
within DRCC provides training to external groups who are supporting survivors as well as consultancy
work in development of survivor-focused resources and policies. Internal training and support will also
be a focus of the role. This new Education Officer post will work within a small team to address training
needs and trends as they arise while working towards the mission and goals of DRCC. This is an
excellent opportunity to join at an exciting point in the organisations development where the successful
candidate will be making a huge and varied contribution to DRCC’s work.

The Role:
Reporting to the Education & Training Manager, the E&T Officer will:

  • Be competent to design, develop and deliver all education and training programmes face-to-face,

online or with a blended approach.

  • Participate in research, design & development of in-house & external training programmes for those

who engage with victims of sexual violence in the course of their work.

  • Deliver training programmes, workshops, and seminars with an emphasis on facilitating a

participative, experiential, ethical and trauma informed approach to training.

  • Participate in the ongoing development and delivery of programmes, guidelines and advisory

support in the area of consent and healthy relationships, bullying, harassment and sexual
harassment in the workplace or elsewhere, along with any new or emerging areas of concern that
align with the DRCC’s mission & strategic objectives.

  • Design and support DRCC to produce information, literature and digital resources to support the

general purposes of the Centre.

  • Evaluate and update the training curriculum in all its elements as needed, to provide an outcome

focused approach in accordance with DRCC’s mission and objectives.

  • Participate with the Education and Training team in identifying gaps in the DRCC education and

training provision and help to develop strategies and programmes to address the most important
gaps.

  • Collaborate in developing an education & training learning management system that centrally

houses data, training content and resources.

  • Participate in exploring the scope for recognition of learner achievement, including external

recognition of learning (QQI) & in-house certification of shorter learning experiences or units.

  • Provide regular reports, including feedback & implementation reports on work done, to

management and colleagues as required & undertake all necessary administration tasks
associated with the role.

  • Promote the education and training work of the DRCC.
