The Law Society of Ireland is inviting applications for the position of Education Officer in the Education Centre. This is a multifaceted and fast paced role that would suit an enthusiastic candidate who has an interest in database systems, digitisation, and project management in an education setting.
The successful candidate will carry out the following duties in line with the Society’s standards and strategic objectives and as directed by the Director of the Education Department.
- Acting as Secretary to the Law Society’s Education Committee (and to such other committees or working groups as may be designated from time to time), including drafting of agendas, presenting, processing of and replying to applications, taking of minutes, discharging of work arising from Committee meetings, forwarding of material to Committee members, following up on work responsibilities of committee members and of those attending before committees.
- Acting as Secretary to the Bursary Sub-Committee, processing of applications for bursaries and overseeing all financial aids for trainees.
- Oversight of regulatory activity in the Education Department to include regulatory CPD and such other areas of regulatory responsibility as shall be assigned.
- Responsibility for drafting and processing regulations, rules and schema (to include CPD Regulations, Fees Orders and Education & Training Regulations).
- Data Protection Officer in the Education Department.
- Responsibility for drawing up of position papers and policy documents for presentation to the Education Committee and such other Committees or working groups as may be designated.
- The administration of the Law Society’s prizes and scholarships on a regular and consistent basis, to include the identification of prize and scholarship winners.
- Responsibility for academic transcripts and references for solicitors and trainees.
- Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- Relevant third level qualification;
- Appropriate legal qualification and experience required
- Previous experience in creating procedural efficiencies;

- Excellent written and spoken communication skills;
