An opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to develop their experience in a dynamic fast paced healthcare environment. The electrical manager will manage a team of electrical personnel and oversee contractors working onsite. The successful candidate will have ownership of all electrical equipment, programs, and projects and become the primary electrical subject matter expert within the hospital. This is an ideal role for someone working towards Chartership which will be fully supported by the hospital management team. This role is perfectly structured for someone looking at developing their management skills in a technical capacity whilst working as part of the senior management team within the technical services department.
Beaumont Hospital is going through major upgrading of its electrical systems across the campus and has significant development plans. It is envisaged that the successful candidate in this role will be able to make a significant contribution to the future of the hospital for many years to come.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate electrical work with consultants and subcontractors and Participate in design reviews where required.
  • Ensure weekly and daily work plans are completed and targets are met and exceeded where possible..
  • Close contact with site personnel ensuring that all access, information and materials are available to ensure productive weeks work.
  • Day-to-day management of the site electrical systems, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any specialist subcontractors
  • Assist the Project Managers with the planning, development and enforcement of programme works
  • Assist the Senior Managers with the planning, development and enforcement of programme works
  • Management & coordination of appointed subcontractors
  • Keeping the project stakeholders informed of progress, cost and any other relevant issues.
  • Manage safety and quality aspects in accordance with company procedures
  • Liaising with Health and Safety and other departments as required
  • Liaising with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved across the campus
  • Liaising with managers across the campus
  • Take an active role in ensuring deliverables are met in relation to accreditation
  • Excellent delegation and organisational skills
  • Must work well within a team and be able to collaborate with others
  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral required
  • Provide locum cover for other managers and helpdesk personnel as may be occasionally required
  • Any other duties as may be occasionally assigned

Selection criteria outline the qualifications, skills, knowledge and/or experience that the successful candidate would need to demonstrate for successful discharge of the responsibilities of the post.

o Electrical Engineering Degree, experience managing, maintenance/PPM/teams.
o Strong trades background, working towards a level 7 technical degree coupled with experience managing maintenance/PPM/teams
o Equivalent work experience

  • Operation and Maintenance of MV and LV electrical installations, Standby Generator Plant and UPS systems.
  • Leadership skills
