My client is one of the leading sustainable lighting specialist contractors in Ireland and provides lighting services to local authorities, where it maintains more than 100,000 lights, private and commercial industries, and sports organisations, where it is recognised as the largest dedicated Sports Lighting Contractor in Ireland.

Headquartered in Co Mayo with depos in Galway, Tullamore, and Cork, my client founded in 2007, has built on solid foundations to become the leading lighting specialist in Ireland.

They now have a fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Project Manager to join our Team. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer (COO), the successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, and highly motivated with excellent project management, planning and scheduling skills and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities:
 

  • Ensure projects are delivered meeting the respective safety, quality and cost objectives of the business and clients.
  • Analyse and report portfolio performance including KPI monitoring, budget, cost control, risk management, client billing, cash flow and implementing rapid recovery as required.
  • Actively partake in the implementation of business operating systems to improve efficiency throughout the organisation, specifically but not limited to the area of project management.
  • Manage project tasks from sales order and terms with QS & client team, maintaining client relationship, delivering scope through effective planning, scheduling & resourcing approach.
  • Actively implement your career development plan
     

The candidate shall have the following skillset:
 

  • Qualified Level 8 Degree in Project Management or Energy/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Civil Engineering.
  • Candidates will ideally have been an experienced and qualified electrical engineer on industrial/commercial or street lighting projects before moving into Project Management.
  • Strong technical understanding of the electrical construction/utility industry.
  • Minimum 5 years Project Management experience delivering projects.
  • Demonstratable evidence of strong commercial acumen and client relationship management.
  • Experience in applying lean principles to work activities.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for conveying project goals and updates.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Excellent IT skills using Microsoft suite of products, particularly Excel.
  • Can make ethical decisions, especially when faced with challenging situations.
  • Familiarity with project management tools to streamline planning, tracking, and reporting processes.
  • Must have a customer-oriented mindset to ensure that project outcomes align with client expectations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes in project scope, schedules, and priorities.
