Electronic Health Record

Description:

CHI will work with Epic Systems, a software company who are a world leader in this technology, to implement an electronic health record (EHR) system across the organisation, which will go live at the same time as the new hospital opens – as Ireland’s first fully digitalised hospital.

The EHR Application Lead (Grade VII) is a core member of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) team and along with leading a team, the post-holder is responsible for the design integrity of the assigned module and will participate in the configuration, testing, training, planning and evaluation of organisational readiness required for a successful EHR implementation. They will assist in the development of plans for go-live and subsequently support post go-live stabilisation and optimisation phases.

The post holder will manage, co-ordinate and lead a specified EHR Application team. They will work closely with the relevant EHR Senior Design and Delivery Manager to deliver the EHR, escalate any issues with the milestones or deliverables within their assigned module(s) and assist the wider EHR team to meet the needs of the operational, administrative and clinical deliverables of the CHI EHR programme.

As part of this role the EHR Application Lead will be required to attend Epic Systems training in the USA, leading to an internationally recognised qualification in system configuration.

• Nursing, Midwifery, HSCP disciplines or Medicine (NCHD)
• ICT, eHealth, Software Engineering or Computer Science
• Digital Health and/or eHealth
• Integration/Interfaces/Data Migration

Essential Criteria for all Application Lead roles:

• Relevant 3rd level degree/post-graduate qualification plus at least 3 years’ experience in a relevant role, ideally in healthcare, Project Management, ICT or large organisational transformation projects
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

or

• 5+ years’ experience in a relevant/similar role, ideally in digital healthcare, healthcare or large organisational transformation projects
• Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

For BI & Reporting Lead only, you will also require:

• Knowledge and experience in report writing and/or data visualisation
• Strong SQL and database experience

For Integration/Data Migration Lead only, you will also require:

• Experience developing / supporting real-time business critical interfaces, preferably with exposure to APIs
• Experience with Data Migration, Migration tools and deployment of ETL solutions
• Knowledge of SQL
• Ability to define, articulate and document technical requirements
• Exposure to industry certifications, such as Health Level Seven (HL7) Certification / Implementation, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, Microsoft Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified Database Administrator
