About the position
- Provide tax advice to the business on Irish and UK tax treatment of remuneration, expenses and benefits and on ad hoc requests such as staff assignments, cross-border working and voluntary severance.
- Advise and support business on the employment tax aspects of projects / transactions including due diligence, guidance on legal documentation including tax warranties and indemnities, and provision of employment tax support for post-acquisition integrations.
- Analyse and interpret tax laws, regulations, case law and guidance to support advice to business and interactions with tax authorities.
- Analyse new legislative proposals and changes to Revenue guidance. Identify implications for business and work with them to implement the relevant changes to processes / systems to ensure compliance with the new tax requirements.
- Communicate effectively with non-tax personnel on technical tax topics to ensure that tax compliance requirements and tax risks are understood and necessary actions are implemented.
- Negotiate with tax authorities on employment tax matters for the Group. Manage Revenue interventions relating to employment taxes.
About the person
- Chartered Tax Advisor
- Strong knowledge of Irish employment tax issues and appreciation across other major tax areas relevant to a business
- Good communication and influencing skills. Ability to communicate effectively on tax issues to non-tax people.
- Experience of managing and dealing with diverse workstreams and delivering to specific deadlines.
- Self-starter who can lead out on tasks with some support from more senior team members.
