BayWa r.e. Ireland Limited is part of the international BayWa r.e. group of renewable energy businesses, with our main office based in Cork. The BayWa r.e. Ireland team focuses on wind project development, acquisition and construction, both in Ireland and the UK. We are excellent listeners and offer a wide range of solutions, perfectly tailored to your specific requirements.
As a result of continued growth, we are looking to recruit an Investment & Markets Analyst, supporting the commercial and project development team with business case development, project pipeline delivery and market analysis on energy policy and regulation. Applicants should have a background in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or similar and evidence of relevant work experience in a relatable field. We are looking to hire as soon as possible based in Cork City. Salary dependent on experience.
- Monitor market, regulatory and policy development, providing timely and clear notification of these to the business and maintaining updates on shared channels such as MS Teams and SharePoint.
- Assist the review of consultations, proposed market modifications, policy reforms and legislative change – identifying any possible impacts and help to coordinate the drafting of clear, concise and robust responses and / or presentations.
- Assist in the provision of advice and guidance to colleagues and represent BayWa on regulatory and policy matters in internal and external working groups and workshops.
- Develop and maintain a high standard of understanding of the BayWa business, its strategic goals and its operating environment and apply this to all aspects of the role.
- Take ownership of discrete areas of business development work streams and provide ad-hoc analyses and research on the Irish energy markets.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate and utility off-takers and flexibility providers / aggregators / revenue optimisers
- Be the internal go to person for energy and route to market related questions
- Monitor, assess, and communicate to the team developments relating to routes to market in the UK&I
- Third level degree in a discipline in commerce, law or economics or a similar relevant experience
- Excellent IT skills with strong knowledge of MS packages
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including high attention to detail
- Strong organisation skills, with the ability to manage and priories to meet deadlines.
- Detailed understanding of the electricity market rules, regulations, flexibility and trading markets
- Sound understanding of the main features and risks associated with different offtake structures
- Naturally curious and self-motivated;

- Comfortable managing a range of priorities;
- Valid Right to Work in the IRL
- Relevant work experience in relevant industry;
- Experience of financial modelling and valuation techniques, with exposure to project financing advantageous but not essential;
- Excellent commercial insight and researching competencies for assessing new business models and key value drivers of projects;
- Relevant degree in numerical discipline such as Finance, Maths, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering or similar;
- Excellent communication skills, both written (presentations, reports, documents) and spoken;
- Fluent English business communication.
