Description:
Duties - General
- To have a working knowledge and understanding of relevant handbooks and procedural documents
- To adhere to the KIE Teacher Standards
- Other duties as deemed necessary by the Director of Studies and/or Principal
- To lead social programme activities
Duties - Academic
- To teach approximately 21 hours per week
- To plan and prepare lessons in accordance with the standards outlined in the KIE Teaching Standards
- To prepare thorough lesson plans for in-house observations and external observations where necessary.
- To assign homework and to mark assignments.
- To assist in the testing and placement (as needed) of new and existing students ensuring all students are assessed as accurately as possible
- To conduct regular one to one tutorials in accordance with the KIE Tutorial policy
- To promote independent learning via needs analysis, tutorials, support and reports
- To be proactive about your personal development, to attend all compulsory training sessions and to actively participate in any training offered
- To contribute to the development of KIE materials though trialing and feedback.
Duties - Administrative
- To keep accurate and up to date records of planning and work done / materials used in class
- To keep accurate and complete records of student attendance and to report absence as per school procedures
- To mark students’ homework as required
- To check students online participation and scores and mark writing assignments
- To assist in the testing and placement of new and existing students (paid at administrative rates)
- To produce personalised monthly reports on student progress
- To attend regular teachers’ meetings.
