Environment Manager

 

Description:

EMEA Infrastructure has seen significant growth in terms of number of environments hence they are looking to onboard an Environment Manager to help with various environments management supporting UAT, QA, Regression, E2E Testing Production Parallel etc. Business Solutions provides global technology solutions for core finance functions such as general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, client profitability, corporate tax, planning/forecasting, funds transfer pricing, and regulatory reporting. The team and its business partners are located throughout the world. The Environment Manager will join the Finance Technology team.

 

Role Responsibilities:

1) Maintain Griffin Axiom Environment Tracker and Documentation

a. Daily updates to the online tracker that specifies the Owners, Versions, Testing and next steps for each test environment.

b. Routine updates to the online Environment spec which holds the latest configuration (capacity/version/server details/etc.)

2) Test Environment Refreshes

a. Request the release team to raise CRQs for Prod exports that will be used for lower lane refreshes.

b. Raise tech tickets to the DBA teams when lower lane prod refreshes

c. Maintain and improve the run book that we follow when a lower lane is refreshed.

d. Manage lower lane each environment database refresh from initial request through to final post refresh checks.

3) Onboarding and upgrading of the Test Environments (Griffin Axiom)

a. Schedule any upgrades when there are gaps between testing activities.

b. Prepare test plans and run books where relevant.

4) End of sprint deployments to UAT and job runs

a. Liaise with Release team members and the Change teams to plan and help with Griffin job executions.

b. Engage help from Development and QA Team when required.

c. Monitor and communicate status of job runs.

5) Environment Availability Planning

a. Host weekly test Environment planning calls with the UAT, QA, Change and Tech teams to agree Testing environment availability and priority.

b. Manage teams’ expectations.

6) Testing Environments Support and Stability

a. Environment User Access

i. Action on approved request tickets for lower lane UI access

ii. Support tech team with raising tickets for UI application and TOAD access.

b. Proactively monitor database capacity on the Oracle test databases and request upgrades when necessary.

Respond to and UI or Database down-time by raising tickets and engaging the relevant Unix/DBA tech teams.

The candidate should have worked on systems based on Unix and SQL and have good knowledge on DevOps tools.

Good experience in handling deployments/ Environment refreshes.

Ability to co-ordinate with multiple teams to manage the test environments.

Experience in Production Support of applications based on Unix/Linux and Oracle
