Recognising that our key asset is our talented team who are passionate about delivering for our stakeholders, we are looking to complement our team further with the addition of an Executive Manager Retail Finance within our Irish Life Financial Services business.

  • Review and sign-off of monthly & quarterly financial accounts for regulatory and management purposes. Ensuring that key inputs to the Retail Actuarial and Group Finance processes are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Presentation of financial results to the various top teams in the Retail business.
  • Partner with the senior leaders in the Retail business to influence decision making and find practical solutions to business problems. This will include providing financial input to business unit strategy plans.
  • Lead key relationships with external partners (auditors, Ark Life, banking partners) ensuring engagement is productive & efficient and focused on achieved positive business outcomes.
  • Lead the financial planning process including annual budget preparation. This will include responsibility for management of the €100m+ Retail cost base.
  • Initiate and lead innovative development of new systems and processes to meet the changing requirements and anticipated future needs of the business.
  • Lead a team of Finance professionals to ensure there are sufficient resources with the necessary experience, personal development and technical support to implement strong financial reporting and controls and achieve desired business outcomes.
  • Review, design and implement financial reporting and controls in accordance with group best practice and standard accounting practices to ensure appropriate financial governance is in place to meet existing and emerging risks and regulatory changes.

 

The ideal candidate will have an excellent academic record, the ability to work in a fast-moving-environment and the interpersonal skill required to interact with clients internally and externally. It is a key requirement that applicants have a good knowledge of the Retail Life Business. They will alsox

  • Have a track record of successfully leading and managing large teams in a complex environment
  • Strong commercial mind-set and awareness along with proven technical knowledge
  • Have a proven track record demonstrating their ability to make sound decisions having analysed situations where issues have emerged
  • Ability to manage effective ongoing relationships with key stakeholders and influence outcomes.
  • Be highly motivated with an ability to work on own initiative and demonstrate flexibility
  • Be an excellent communicating and influencing skills with proven ability to simplify complex concepts and translate them into actionable objectives
  • Have the ability, confidence and desire to challenge and re-engineer practices and processes as required.
  • Have experience of developing and managing a team in the delivery of results under tight deadlines
  • Be able to demonstrate a strong track record in using key accounting systems such as SAP, Essbase, Tableau and Cloas.
  • Have a relevant accounting qualification, ACA/ACCA or equivalent
