Reporting to the Accounting Services Manager, the Finance Assistant will be responsible for all matters relating to the accounts receivable part of the business including collections, processing, query resolution and account reconciliation. This fantastic opportunity will allow the successful candidate to further their experience, gain exposure to other areas of the Finance Department and work as part of a supportive, collaborative team in the new state-of-the-art facility here in Galway.

Job Requirements
Principal Responsibilities

  • Day to day maintenance of accounts receivable ledger, including uploading of invoices, issue of statements and follow up of overdue amounts.
  • Preparation of month end AR reports, and monthly closing of ledgers to ensure reporting deadlines can be met.
  • Liaising with sales team on late paying accounts.
  • Providing sales data for VAT and Sales tax filings.
  • Providing cover for Accounts Payable.
  • Provision of cover for other aspects of accounting services department.
  • Backup for assisting with monthly payroll.
  • Assist with preparation of VAT returns for various countries, Intrastat & Vies for Ireland.
  • Other ad hoc finance duties as required.

Experience* & Skills*

  • Advanced IT skills, especially in the use of accounting systems including Sage and the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload and work to tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
