The Role

Applications are invited for the position of Finance Business Partner, within the finance team in ESB Networks. ESB Networks are licensed to build, operate, maintain and develop the electricity network in the Republic of Ireland. We are committed to futureproofing Ireland’s electricity network and making the country’s goal of net zero by 2050 a reality. This will require deploying innovative solutions today which are scalable to meet the electricity needs of the nation by 2040. The Networks for Net Zero Strategy will underpin an energy transition that will enable electricity customers to adopt new technologies, products and services in the decade ahead, changing how they generate, store and consume electricity.

This role will report to the Finance Business Partner, ESB Networks and will be based in Networks Offices in Dublin 1 and ESB Head office in Dublin 2. The successful candidate may combine remote / smart working within the jurisdiction, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review.

Key Responsibilities

• Working closely with business managers to ensure the appropriate financial and risk management of business activities and supporting financial aspects for new business initiatives
• Working closely with ESB Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and Finance Operations teams to ensure a streamlined and efficient process for budgeting, forecasting and monitoring and management of costs against budget and expenditure approvals
• Working in partnership with business managers to develop a clear understanding of business case challenges and opportunities and agree the timing of key deliverables for various project opportunities
• Actively engaged with other finance and business teams within Networks Finance to ensure close alignment of finance objectives across Business Units
• Work in partnership with other Networks Finance Business Partners to ensure any cross function finance issues are managed appropriately
