Financial Accountant

Description:

It is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious financial accountant looking to expand their knowledge and experience of Retail Banking. The role supports the key product lines and delivery of timely reporting of the Retail business performance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the financial, statutory and regulatory reporting requirements of the unit are delivered on a timely basis and to a high standard of accuracy. You will also be responsible for implementing operational improvement initiatives and other ad hoc activities related to Financial Reporting for Distribution Channels.

In this role you will

• Be responsible for key elements of the month end close process, ensuring that underlying processes, review and controls have been completed in accordance with standard process

• Prepare and deliver statutory workings and disclosure notes, Finrep disclosure notes, ensuring adequate supporting evidence is maintained on file

• Deliver MI as produced by the Team (e.g. monthly analytical review and commentaries), ensuring results are complete and accurate

• Be a member of an agile Team; sharing knowledge and proactively supporting continuous improvement initiatives to deliver process efficiencies, while also ensuring the delivery of changes arising

• Complete ad-hoc projects and requests in support of team goals and the Bank's strategic priorities

A strong knowledge of MS software, particularly MS excel is essential for this role

You have a working knowledge of the SAP general ledger and BCS consolidation systems

Experience in financial services will help you to stand out but is not necessary in order to apply for this role
