Financial Accountant

As a Financial Accountant, you will work as an Insurance Manager as part of the Aon Captive and Insurance Management team to deliver top quality service to our Bermuda based client captive insurance and reinsurance companies.

The Financial Accountant will primarily be client facing and will be responsible for managing client relationships and the financial reporting needs of a portfolio of captive insurance and reinsurance companies. Your responsibilities will include:
 

• Communication and liaison with clients and responsibility for developing the client relationship
• Communication and liaison with auditors, corporate secretaries, actuaries, financial institutions, and other external third parties
• Daily Communication and liaison with colleagues and management in Bermuda
• The review of monthly & quarterly management accounts and annual statutory accounts together with all ancillary reports to tight reporting deadlines
• Arranging, attending and presenting at client Board meetings
• The proper maintenance of financial records
• Processing insurance information including claims and premium
• Preparation of various insurance reports and reconciliations
• Various daily and monthly administration duties
• Supporting group wide projects where the need arises
• Inter office travel will be required for client meetings and participation in collaboration projects

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success.

The main skills the Financial Accountant will have, are listed below:
 

• You are a qualified accounting professional with up to two years PQE. You have previous experience in reviewing and or preparing financial statements and management accounts.
• Strong interpersonal skills with a view to managing and developing relationships with both internal team members and external third parties.
• Ability to work proactively, self-manage and self-motivate are critical for this remote working opportunity.
• Ideally, but not essentially, you have insurance industry experience.
• You are fluent in English with excellent communication skills (foreign language skills an advantage)
• You can work to tight reporting deadlines and using your own initiative
• You have a high degree of computer literacy and skills including an extensive working knowledge of Excel
• You have a track record of delivering business results with excellence and a willingness to travel internationally
