Financial Accountant

We are seeking a skilled financial accountant to join our vibrant finance team based in the Brisbane HQ. You will have the opportunity to work within a team of motivated finance professionals with impressive credentials and experience gained in both chartered and commercial environments, complemented by CA and CPA qualifications. You will be exposed to a range of skills within the Global Finance function including Accounting, Corporate Reporting, Tax, Shared Services and Financial Planning & Analysis.Additionally , you will have the opportunity to work closely with other departments including Sales, Operational, Procurement, and Engineering. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience in applying IFRS accounting standards, have a strong understanding of financial principles, and possess an analytical edge to provide meaningful analysis and reporting to management.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing and maintaining financial records, including general ledger accounts and financial statements.
• Reviewing financial documents and transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Performing financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions.
• Preparing and reviewing annual/quarterly budgets, forecasts and financial reports.
• Developing and implementing policies and procedures in the company.
• Capex and fixed asset accounting
• Assist in providing reliable financial and management information across business activities.
• Enter and maintain balanced intercompany accounts, including sound understanding of applicable foreign currencies used and the impact of these within the Group.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations evidencing sound financial control of relevant entities.
• Manage multiple stakeholders internally and externally and communicate effectively and efficiently.
• Contribute to our accounting policies and planning, driving ongoing process improvement within Finance.
   

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce and commenced studying CA/CPA (or international equivalent)
• Strong understanding of current International and Australian Accounting Standards
• Experience with large ERP systems.
• Ability to reconcile financial records and resolve source issues.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Flexibility, responsiveness, and ability to work to tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High level (intermediate to advance) excel skills.
