Financial Accountant

Description:

This person will be part of a talented team ensuring that monthly financial reporting and MI for St James’s Place International and its ancillary companies is prepared accurately and on a timely basis, and that SJPI financial policies, procedures and controls are adhered to. This person will specifically focus on the Singapore and Hong Kong entities and assist with other projects as required. This role is based in Dublin and requires a qualified accountant, ideally with FS/insurance experience.

What you'll be doing:
 

• Ensure that monthly financial reporting and MI for SJPI and its ancillary companies are prepared accurately and on a timely basis, and that SJPI financial policies, procedures and controls are being adhered to.
• Ensure all financial reporting for SJPI is in accordance with all relevant reporting standards/requirements and consistent with the policies approved by the SJPI Board.
• Ensure that working papers, back-up papers and controls supplied by external administrators are reviewed and queried as appropriate.
• Preparation of monthly and quarterly MI reports for distribution to board of directors.
• Provide auditors with required information to allow them to complete annual audit.
• Maintain Key Finance Controls and assisting internal auditors.
• Ensure that all other monthly, quarterly and annual timetable actions are completed and SJPI Finance Monthly Task Calendar is signed off accordingly.
• Preparation of quarterly returns to the relevant regulators ensuring appropriate sign off and governance.
• Approval of management expenses within delegated authorities.
   

Who we're looking for:

Relevant candidates will be qualified accountants (ACA/ACCA) with ideally previous knowledge of insurance accounting. Applications are welcomed from newly qualified individuals or those with 1-2 years PQE. Knowledge of accounting fundamentals required together with strong accountancy software skills. Good financial analysis skills are required combined with confident interpersonal skills and a pro-active work ethos.
