We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Financial Controller to join our company's leadership team. Report to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic alignment with the organisation’s goals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing financial data, ensuring cost accuracy, and providing valuable insights to support effective decision-making within the organisation.
Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's business objectives.
- Collaborate with executive management to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with the directors to establish financial goals.
- Prepare accurate and comprehensive financial forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
Financial Reporting:
- Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards.
- Present financial reports to executive leadership, providing analysis and recommendations.
Cost Management:
- Manage and optimise cost accounting processes, ensuring accurate product costing.
- Conduct thorough cost analyses on raw materials, manufacturing processes, and other operational expenses.
- Monitor and analyse cost trends, identifying areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity, providing recommendations to optimize working capital.
- Implement effective cash management strategies to support operational needs.
Financial Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Liaise with external accountants to facilitate timely and successful completion of year end accounts and tax filings.
Process Improvement:
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance department.
- Implement best practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
Qualifications:
- ACCA, CIMA or ACA Qualified/Finalist or Qualified by experience.
- Proven experience in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting principles and best practices.
- Three years' experience in Finance/Admin role using ERP systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficient in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Crystal Reports preferable.
