Description:
This is an outstanding opportunity for a candidate with proven experience leading a finance function in a high-growth SME, ideally within a business-to-consumer (B2C) environment. The role with play a big part in key strategy and decision-making with the SLT in its growth plans.
The role:
- Manage the end-to-end financial function leading a small finance team of 3.
- Participating as part of the Senior Management Team, attending monthly board meetings, and contributing to strategy sessions and key decision-making processes.
- Preparing financial reports, reconciliations, cash flows, and conducting income and expenditure analysis. Managing the preparation of year-end audit files and liaising with auditors.
- Overseeing budgeting, expenditure control, bank accounts, and invoice processing. Handling insurance renewals, vehicle leasing, and processing information on IT systems.
- Managing monthly and weekly payrolls, preparing and submitting personal and corporate tax refunds, CT1s via ROS, B1 annual returns, VAT, and RCT. Preparing non-audit files.
- Leading the Accounts team, including Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable and a part-time Accounts Administrator, ensuring regular one-on-one meetings.
- Handling clerical and administrative duties, assisting in projects to improve financial reporting, and providing support to financial team members as needed.
The candidate:
- Qualified accountant (ACA /ACCA /CIMA/CPA)
- Experience managing a finance function within an SME.
- Experience within a business-to-consumer (B2C) environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and good ability to multitask.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written with key stakeholders.
- Have had experience at a high level dealing directly with the revenue and banks.
