Description:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Financial Controller with experience in the food, beverage, or hospitality sectors to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The role involves overseeing all aspects of the finance function while managing and mentoring a small finance team of five.
The role:
- Manage and lead the finance team, providing guidance, training, and support. Foster a positive work environment that promotes collaboration, high performance, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee and review the work of the accounts team, encompassing but not limited to: Accounts Payable and Receivable, Bookkeeping, Payroll, Cash and Bank Reconciliation, and CSO returns.
- Manage the financial activities of the business, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss Account, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.
- Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly revenue, labour and overhead reports.
- Perform regular financial analysis, identify trends, and provide insights to enhance profitability and control costs.
- Provide the Senior Management team and Group Finance with timely and accurate reporting on all aspects of the past and forecasted performance of the business, including variance analysis.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organisational goals.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, legal requirements, tax regulations, and company policies. Coordinate with external auditors and supervise the completion of audits and tax filings, including VAT, PAYE/PRSI, and Corporation Tax.
The candidate:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or CIMA) with at least 3+ years PQE
- Experience as Finance Manager/Financial Controller in either the food, beverage, retail or hospitality sector.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Strong knowledge of financial operations, including revenue management, cost control, and financial analysis.
- Ambitious, confident and professional individual with strong communication, organisational, analytical and management skills.
